Re-position a german family hotel for the 21st century
this successful hotel outside hamburg, germany was slowly being pushed aside by multi-national chains. They had just expanded their restaurant, and added 100 additional guest rooms; this only increased overhead. our solution was to move the perception of the hotel from a stopover for salesmen to an upscale vacation spot. a swimming pool, unusual in north german hotels, was added, a 2 "chef hat" (stars in U.S.) executive chef was found and employed, and a website offering online booking and weekend packages was completed. This brought the hotel to the forefront for local hamburg organizations for their meetings and took advantage of the german custom of traveling on weekends. By emphasizing their closeness to the autobahn, family atmosphere, great food, and the large concentration of antique dealers in the area, it enabled them to increase their weekly commercial guests while adding weekend stays; bringing occupancy rates to an average of 65% and being overbooked during holidays and weekends.
a new face cream launch with a reasonable budget
we work very closely with a natural ingredient cosmetic company that imports all its products from italy. one of the doctors involved had formulated a face cream with 100% natural and organic lycopene which is taken from tomatoes - it is unique in the world. the company's other products are sold only to plastic surgeons and dermatologists so selling directly to stores and the public had never been tried before. our task was to introduce this product, using only a budget of 1/10 the normal amount. our answer was to set up an e-commerce website, promote it initially with PPC; while optimizing the site for search engines, issuing frequent press releases, and starting two blogs. with these methods we have filled the first pages of searches on Google for "Lycopene skincream" without using expensive PPC any longer. The cream is selling briskly and they have now been approached by several upscale skin products stores and spas.
printing an expensive catalog
our client was spending several hundred thousand dollars each year to conventionally print a catalog of their thousands of products. they needed to cut costs but had concern their customers would order less without the catalog in front of them. our consultants did an extensive survey of their clients and determined that it was true that everyone liked having a catalog. we approached the conundrum from a different angle. the catalog artwork production was switched to an inside task, then converted to and adobe pdf searchable file and written to dvds. clients then received the (much lower cost) full catalog, it was easily searchable and an electronic order form was included to streamline the overall order process. They are now considering automating their warehouse so the orders are picked and made ready for shipment without human hands being involved.
having built a company all his life now would like to have some time to enjoy it
we had previously assisted this client with marketing his automated assembly machine company with great success. he had built the company to a profitable 25 million concern. now he approached us to facilitate his enjoying his success while not impacting the health, or operation, of the company.he had no heirs to take over the operation and still felt a great loyalty to the employees who helped him bring the company to where is today. our answer involved a search for a seasoned manager who was looking for an equity position. Once we found an executive, we structured an employee stock purchase plan. The company now funds its own buyout, the original owner is enjoying his semi-retirement which is generously funded by the stock plan, and the employees are more productive due to their ownership status.

a simple website? . too often we are asked to design and construct a website. it is actually more important to comprehend what you need to site to do. a site with bells and whistles may be attractive but not communicate your message. conversely it is often more critical to generate the correct traffic to the site.
